The way of the warrior

I have it, you have it, we all have it in us. Not just anger, but that fleshy falleness that desires to be right and to not be offended. Just recently, after hearing a talk by the guy named Allen Hood about Growing through mistreatment, i've begun to notice in people everywhere this desire to defend themselves. As though we have a right to be angry or offended. If anyone had a right to be offended it was Jesus Christ. His own people crucified him. Stephen said Father forgive them as he was bieng stoned. Why do we get soo offended soo easily. Christians seem to be the worst sometimes. We take offense to EVERYTHING. If we are to be conformed to the image of Christ, that means completely conformed in everyway...including the meek and humble part. The part where if someone slaps us on the cheek we offer them the other. How do we get there?! How do we begin to change by the grace of God. He set up practical ways for us to get things in us out of the way so that he can change us from the inside out. Fasting, praying and giving are the three main ones that I can think of. When we fast we are getting the painkillers out of the way so that the holy spirit can come in and expose stuff. I want this to happen b/c I really want to experiance Him. I really want to know Him and that stuff gets in the way. It also hurts other people. If we begin to respond and react not out of our brokeness but out of a transformed life then people who offend us cease to offend us and we can love them the way God loves them. Do we actually think that we can offend God?!

Man I haven't posted here in a while...

So recently I got engaged. This semester has been nice b/c i've been able to focus on building up my portfolio. It is a little hectic b/c of planning a wedding with my fiance, working on projects, waiting tables and doing church stuff.

mmmm...thai flavored wings

BW3s is the best wing place in town...look out. today has been good. i'm so glad that God set it up to where we need community. solitude is good and needed, but out of that solitude is where we can communicate to others and are able to love the unloveable. Jesus teach us how to love you more and people w/ Your heart. teach me how to trust You more in every aspect of life.

the depravity of man...

Elijah was a man just like me...
and so was Hitler...
The reality is, we as humans are capable of a lot more than we think. When we submit ourselves to Him and walk in His ways, He does things through us that we can't even imagine...but when we follow the ways of this world and seek independance from Him then we are under the influence of prince of the air. Even while under His covering there is still a deep darkness that we cannot get away from and must come to grips with. The difference between Hitler and I is that I recognize the darkness in me and repent and then He comes. It was my sin that nailed Him to the cross. Hitler and I come from the same seed. The first man to fall Adam. Oh Lord, reveal to me the depths of my darkness and show me your infinite love so that I can bear the pain. Thank you for saving me, redeeming me, restoring me, loving me uncounditionally and anything else I can't think of right now.
